When healthcare providers are able to focus on patient care, everyone benefits, and communities thrive.
We know the challenges independent medical groups face – because our physician leaders faced them, too. That’s why they set up a physician-led accountable care organization that keeps patient care as the primary focus.
As a Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), Emergent ACO offers a comprehensive approach to improving patient outcomes. We help coordinate care, increase cost savings, and use data to drive decisions. Our team provides the tools you need to improve outcomes and increase efficiencies.
By working together, we exceed expectations and advance performance for independent medical groups across the country, without disrupting the everyday practice of medicine.
We understand physicians are busy caring and treating patients. We want to reduce the administrative burden on your practice while meeting all reporting requirements as easily as possible and we can show you how.
Because Emergent ACO is physician-led, our leadership team has already experienced the challenges that physicians and staff encounter every day, including:
How to keep patients healthy with a preventive care focus
Patient compliance and improving chronic disease management
Technology issues that hinder operational productivity
How to align high-quality clinical outcomes with lower patient costs
When independent medical groups consider an accountable care organization, the first question they should ask is how much money it takes to save money.
ACO overhead can be staggering - with many inefficiencies in operational methods. The Emergent ACO team has a dozen dedicated staff members, taking care of over 800 providers across 227 locations who care for over 46,000 patients. Comparatively, other ACO organizations have a staff of up to eight times this number for a similar base of providers and patients.
How do we work so effectively? We built a tech-infused structure of care coordination tools that support our members and address their operational challenges. This allows the vast majority of savings to be returned to the provider(s) who earned it.
It is essential to identify ACOs with a long history of success. New ACO models continue to crop up, but these offerings are often simply a redesign of a previous option.
For example, ACO Reach is available January 1, 2023, with upfront cost savings, but assessing if the lower upfront savings outweigh higher savings over time is vital. In addition, ensure your ACO considerations include the technology capabilities to provide comprehensive data analysis and governmental reporting support to reduce these burdens on your staff.

Our Emergent ACO team uses OnePartner as a trusted electronic health information exchange, developed by physicians and proven over many years, to access and share patient information through secure, high-quality, and safe transmissions.
This robust technology infrastructure assures value-based operations and effective care coordination that measures medical groups against successful algorithms that monitor operations, clinical protocols, and financial components. The goal is to use data to drive decisions and recommendations toward clinical best practices with more innovative solutions and improved quality performance.
OnePartner provides analysis of actual spend on specific patient populations to identify quality gaps and enhance engagement for more substantial outcomes. Other capabilities include:
While our resources and infrastructure are robust, we know it takes time to understand our full benefits and opportunities, so we take an ‘exclusive membership’ attitude as we help our members. Through all phases of the Emergent ACO process, we’re here to help because our goal is your goal – provide value-based quality care for your patients and ease your administration and operational burdens.
Emergent ACO has established strategic partnerships that enhance effective patient care, including Quest Laboratories and independent pharmacies, so patient care is coordinated from diagnostics through episodic recovery and long-term disease management. These partnerships provide a checks and balances system that increases patient value and improves operational efficiencies. Members of the ACO will have direct access to all preferred partner agreements.
